Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter of actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback), her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first TV roles. However, her parents did not want her to take on acting roles until she was an adult fearing the effect of stress. Perry confessed that she wasn't at ease in the stage during high school however, she began to perform as a means to meet new people during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry was able to begin her acting career at New York after graduation, landing minor roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, the feeling of homelessness made Perry return to California to work as a theater actress. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway together with her mom. In 2015 she performed alongside her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in 9 episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. In 2017, she had a minor role on the ABC political drama Scandal in which her father was the main character. That same year she portrayed a younger version of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother in a younger version. She was able to be cast in the part despite having a close connections to the character's family.
