Coleman was born and raised in the town of Blackpool, Lancashire. She attended Arnold School in Blackpool where she was head of the school and received straight As on her A-levels. In a discussion about her Emmerdale role, Coleman stated that she regrets not having had a typical college experience. When she was at school, Coleman was a member of the theatre group In Yer Space with whom she performed at the Edinburgh Festival in the play Crystal Clear. A prize was given to her for the show, and the production itself received a favorable reception. Coleman was chosen for the Emmerdale part of Jasmine Thomas after auditioning with drama schools. Coleman was nominated twice in the year 2007. She was nominated for two awards. British Soap Awards nominated her for the title of best newcomer. At the National Television Awards, she received the award for as the most popular newcomer. She was nominated in the categories of Best Actress, Sexiest Woman and for the Best Dramatic Performance in the British Soap Awards 2009. Coleman received a TV Choice Award nomination for Best Actress. Steven Moffat of Doctor Who revealed in a news conference held on the 21st of March, 2012, that Coleman was to be replacing Karen Gillan after she and Arthur Darvill had left. Moffat chose her due to her ability to work alongside Smith, and that she was faster at speaking than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She has been on the scene for more than 30 years, and has been involved in numerous TV and film projects. However, she is better recognized for her TV shows as opposed to films. Eva has had many TV roles, but her roles as Dr. Maria Santos from All My Children' and Detective Natalia Boa Vistas of CSI Miami have stood out. This particular show brought her two nominations for the 'Daytime Emmy. Also, she got to express her creative side through music. Eva, in addition to acting as an actress, is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and business owner. She is a thrice-married woman who has a daughter from her second partner.

Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Ilkay Silk is the daughter of Peter Silk, who is an academic and Anna Silk, who's an actress, director as well as a producer and playwright.
